The Memory of the Smell of Things, by António Ferreira

Arménio (José Martins), an octogenarian and former combatant of the Colonial War, lives in an old people's home. In this sad and lonely space, he has time to reflect on life.

While plagued by painful memories of the war in Angola, he ends up establishing a deep connection with Hermínia (Mina Andala), a dedicated young African-born employee.

A drama about guilt, aging, and solidarity.
